Our client is a well-established provider of business information, compliance guidance, and subscription-based solutions serving organisations throughout the UK. As part of a successful international group, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering trusted expertise across a range of professional and regulatory disciplines whilst increasingly investing in digital products, technology-enabled services, and AI-driven solutions.
With an established customer base, recurring revenue streams, and significant content and intellectual property assets, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of commercial development. Continued investment in products, platforms, and innovation is creating new opportunities for growth, strengthening the company’s position within an increasingly competitive and digitally focused marketplace.
As part of this evolution, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a Sales Director with responsibility for leading the business development function and driving new business revenue growth. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will lead a team of sales professionals whilst taking ownership of sales performance, forecasting, budgeting, and the delivery of ambitious commercial objectives. This is a highly visible leadership role with a clear mandate to enhance sales effectiveness, strengthen market penetration, and identify new revenue opportunities.
The Sales Director will play a key role within the senior leadership team, contributing to the wider commercial strategy and helping to shape the future direction of the business. The role requires an individual capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels; providing leadership, accountability, and direction to the sales function whilst remaining actively involved in significant commercial opportunities and senior client relationships.
Candidates are likely to be experienced Sales Directors, Heads of Business Development, Commercial Directors, or senior sales leaders with a proven track record of delivering growth within B2B environments. Backgrounds within SaaS, subscription services, information services, digital products, professional services, or other consultative sales environments will be of particular interest. Experience of leading high-performing sales teams, developing structured sales processes, and driving sustainable revenue growth will be highly advantageous.
The successful candidate will possess strong commercial awareness, excellent leadership capability, and the ability to translate market opportunities into measurable business outcomes. Equally important will be the credibility to engage with senior stakeholders, analyse commercial performance, and work collaboratively across marketing, finance, product, and operational functions to support wider organisational objectives.
Culturally, the organisation is seeking an energetic and entrepreneurial leader who combines pace, accountability, and commercial drive with a collaborative and pragmatic approach. The successful candidate will be capable of inspiring high performance, developing talent, and creating a culture focused on continuous improvement and sustainable growth. For an ambitious commercial leader, this opportunity offers genuine scope to influence business direction whilst building a platform for broader leadership responsibilities in the future.
