Our client is a well-established business within the packaging sector, committed to delivering high-quality products and services to a diverse customer base through both e-commerce platforms and a dedicated sales force. The business is seeking a highly skilled Head of Procurement to take charge of its strategic procurement functions and support its growth ambitions.

As part of the ongoing expansion and operational improvements, the Head of Procurement will play a critical role in driving the procurement strategy, managing global supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices. The ideal candidate will bring significant procurement experience, ideally within packaging or a related sector, with a proven ability to manage multi-site teams, navigate international markets, and deliver substantial cost savings.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Head of Procurement will oversee a team in the UK, China, and India, ensuring the development and execution of procurement strategies that meet business objectives and exceed performance targets. The role will require exceptional negotiation skills, deep analytical abilities, and a thorough understanding of procurement software and tools. The candidate must also possess the leadership skills necessary to motivate and manage teams across multiple countries, drive performance improvements, and ensure compliance with international procurement regulations.

Key responsibilities will include sourcing the best suppliers, conducting tenders, negotiating contracts, and overseeing supplier performance. The successful candidate will also have the responsibility of identifying opportunities for cost reduction, implementing procurement strategies, and building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the continued success of the business. In addition, the role offers the opportunity to contribute to business strategy, market analysis, and the ongoing success of the company.

Candidates should possess a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with certifications such as CSCP or CPSM being highly desirable. While prior experience in packaging is beneficial, candidates with procurement experience in similar sectors such as distribution, manufacturing, or engineering will also be considered.
